Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of projects do you do?
Projects can range from something like repairing a front door lock, re-caulking a bathroom or kitchen, to crafting a custom entryway, remodeling a kitchen or bathroom, or restoring a house to its original beauty. No job is too big or too small.

How far do you travel?
Our jobs cover the Central & Northern New Jersey area, and suburbs along the New Jersey Shore.

How do I begin this process?
Sometimes it is as simple as a phone call to a good contractor. At HandiWorks, we can guide you through every step of the process on a project of any size. Your budget doesn't matter, but staying within your budget does. It helps at the outset, if you have a clear sense of what you want and what your budget is. But don't worry if your vision isn't clear yet, sometimes thinking through that is part of the process, as well. Don't be afraid to ask questions – HandiWorks' expertise will help you think it through.

How do I get an estimate?
Give us a call. We will assess your project needs, and if a visit is necessary for further information, we will meet with you at your home. HandiWorks is a family business with family values, and that includes respecting your budget. You will find our cost estimates to be competitive in the marketplace.

How do I find a good handyman or contractor?
As a homeowner, you need to do your homework. Talk to friends and neighbors that had work done on their homes. Were they satisfied with their completed projects? Make sure that the handyman or contractor is licensed and fully insured, that means both liability and workman's comp. Ask for references on the last five jobs and follow up on them: Were they happy with the results? Were the workers respectful and did they leave the job site neat at the end of the day? Did they show up every day? Would you use them again? If the answer is "yes" to all of these questions, you found yourself a good resource.
